The short version. We collect your email and the answers you give us so we can save your draft and invite your partner. We don’t sell your data. You can ask us to delete everything at any time by emailing hello@clearprenup.com.
Who we are
ClearPrenup (“we”) operates clearprenup.com, a self-help document service for couples marrying in Texas. We are not a law firm and do not give legal advice. Company details are listed in our Terms of service.
What we collect
- Email address, when you choose to save your progress.
- Your answers to the fit check and questionnaire, including your wedding date if you give it.
- Financial information you enter in a financial disclosure, once that feature is available. It is encrypted and shown only to you and, when you both choose to share, your partner.
- Usage data: pages viewed, buttons clicked, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address. We use PostHog for this; form fields are masked in any session recording.
- Payment details are handled by our payment provider and never stored by us.
Why we collect it
- To save your draft and let you continue later.
- To send your partner the invitation you write, from the email you gave us.
- To email you about your draft: reminders, the waiting period before signing, and when new features open. You can unsubscribe from each email.
- To understand which parts of the site work and which don’t.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent your data.
- We don’t show one partner’s answers or finances to the other unless you both choose to share.
- We don’t use your financial information for advertising.
Who else sees it
Service providers who help us run the site, under contracts that limit what they can do with your data: hosting (Railway), database (Supabase), email delivery (Resend), analytics (PostHog), and, when available, e-signature and payment providers. If you ask us to connect you with an independent attorney, we share only what you tell us to.
How long we keep it
Drafts and answers: until you delete them or your account. Signed agreements: in both partners’ accounts for as long as either account exists, because a signed agreement is a shared document. Payment records: as long as the law requires.
Your choices
- Delete your draft, your answers and your email at any time: email hello@clearprenup.com, or use the account settings once accounts are available.
- Unsubscribe from emails with the link in any message.
- Request a copy of your data by email.
Children
The service is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll email everyone who has saved a draft.
